THE PLACEMENT PROCESS
One of the biggest challenges that applicants face during the application process is deciding where to live in China. This decision can be a very difficult one especially when applicants will be expected to live in that area for the duration of their placement. To assist our applicants in this process we devised the placement preference form. Our placement preference form includes a selection of criteria that we can use to give each applicant the best possible experience in China.
The selection criteria take into account a number of different factors that our applicants may look for and help reduce some of the stress applicants may feel during the selection process. The factors are not just limited to a geographical location but also factors such as work hours and proximity to other teachers. Applicants should be aware that depending on the factors that they select their average monthly income is likely to change. For example, an applicant that requests to work in a larger city with office hours and a stricter school curriculum is likely to earn more than an applicant that requests a rural placement with less working hours. We believe that this system gives each of our applicants the most flexibility.
THE SELECTION CRITERIA
Both the most difficult and most fun part of our application process involves having our applicants select a placement from any one of the 19 regions that we have available across China (Shanghai, Beijing, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Guizhou, Chongqing, Jiangxi, Hebei, Hunan, Zhejiang, Anhui, Sichuan, Henan, Shandong, Jilin, Hainan, Hubei, Tianjin, Shanxi, Yunnan). Our placement form gives each of our applicants the chance to select which region would be best for them based on some criteria.
