Our programme is run in-conjunction with two Chinese organisations CEAIE and MF to ensure that our process runs smoothly and efficiently.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAMME
SUMMER CAMP TRAINING
Receive 10-days on site teacher training at our summer camp in Beijing before you arrival at your placement school. Make new friends, learn new skills, and grow your confidence under a tried and tested model.
Get the chance to explore the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, and Forbidden Palace through day excursions during the camp.
PAID PLACEMENT
Every applicant is guaranteed a monthly salary between £750 to 2000 a month (plus bonuses). It's important to remember that the purchasing power in China is 2-4x (depending on the city) that of the UK meaning that your money will go much further.
For instance if we talk about the prices in Shanghai (most expensive city in mainland China) you can get the following; subway ticket for 30-50p, meal at a cheap restaurant £2-3, 10km taxi £3, hair cut £3-5.
120 HOUR TEFL COURSE
We provide all of our applicants with access to a 120 hour TEFL course necessary to become a qualified teacher in China. The course is split over two portions with half being completed online and the remaining half being completed during our summer camp induction in Beijing.
By providing our applicants with direct access to the TEFL course we take the stress away from having to search the internet to find your own legitimate course that can be accepted in China.
ONE MONTH PAID HOLIDAY
Applicants will receive a one-month paid vacation during the Chinese new year break which falls somewhere between January and February each year. Many teachers use this time to get a well deserved break from teaching and explore neighbouring countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, Japan, and Cambodia. Some teachers also decide to use this time to reconnect with family back in the UK.
FREE ACCOMMODATION
Not only do our applicants receive a well-paid salary but they are provided with FREE accommodation for the duration of their stay with their placement school. Most of the accommodation is on-site or nearby to the school and in most cases utility bills will be included as well (up to a fair limit).
APPLICATION REIMBURSEMENT
Once our applicants have completed their contract with their school they receive reimbursement for their flights (two-ways) up to a limit (usually around $1000-1200). All applicants need to do is provide the school with a copy of their flight receipt. Some schools may also provide other application reimbursement such as legalisation of document fees, medical checks, and visa documentation costs (depends on school/region).
PLACEMENT SELECTION
Our applicants have the flexibility to choose between a number of varying locations in China from urban metropolises with the newest high-tech infrastructure to semi-rural cities that still provide that feeling of the old China. As well as location applicants can choose from a range of other factors such as school type, age of students, working hours, and even the strictness of the school. To provide the most flexible selection process possible.
APPLICATION SUPPORT
Applicants are guided along the application process the entire way. From the moment applicants apply they are given information on their next steps and what is still required to progress their application. In addition applications will not go through the process alone as group chats will be setup through popular messaging application WeChat to encourage applications to communicate to each other solve problems that they are having relating to the process, and make new friends.
WE HAVE MADE IT AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE
On average applicants need around £1800 for the entire application process including the initial flight to China and first months living expenses in China before receiving their September salary.
PROGRAMME REQUIREMENTS
NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER
You are native English speaker that holds a passport from the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
BACHELORS DEGREE OR ABOVE
You will have your bachelors degree certificate (or above) by the time you begin teaching (August 2021). Applicants that are expected to graduate later than this date can still apply, and have their application deferred.
NO CRIMINAL RECORD
You don't have a criminal record and will pass a criminal record check.
MEDICALLY FIT
You have no serious medical conditions that would impair your travel to China (please contact us directly if you are unsure).
